Texas Wildflowers
All of the pictures in this gallery were taken in Texas. Most of the flowers were found growing along side Texas Highways. For additional photos and information on Texas wildflowers try the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center http://www.wildflower2.org/ or a marvelous site by a Texas photographer, Gary Regner, http://www.texaswildflowerpictures.com/wf_index.htm

on September 2, 2006Just last year, or possibly the year before, I had recognized this flower as being a wild flower. I guess I had never really seen them, even though they probably were all around. I first saw them in the nature center near Fort Worth Texas. I don't think that anyone could posibly realize exactly the beauty these purple bursts really are. And that's what I've called them ever since my first picture taken. I've never had the opportunity to get a picture with a little creature upon one. ~ Melissa
